John –
I have the 2014-2015 blue model. The sled is very well made, light and strong. I am currently waiting for my second one to arrive. No need to post a video, already on you tube, check out the videos to get an idea of how much fun it is (even for those age closer to 40 than 20).

Question
David –
I am interested in buying your Hammerhead Pro sled. In several places I see the recommended age is 13+, but in other places I have seen younger children riding it. On Amazon, it is listed as “for all ages.” Could you explain the age limit? I understand that it moves fast and a helmet is recommended. What is the length? I assume a child has to be long enough for her legs to touch the snow to brake while lying down.

Mike Pleiss –
David,
The Hammerhead sled is 51″ in length. That being said, the rider has doesnt have to be that tall. The sled does go very fast. So, the recommended age of 13 is accurate.
Hope this helps,

I’ve owned two of these since around 2007. Absolutely love them! Very well designed and manufactured. The steering ability makes them very versatile.

Question
Greg –
If I’m an “athletic” 245 lbs would I be ok riding this thing? or more like, would the sled be ok with me riding on it or would i crush it? sounds like its very sturdy. Thanks

Question
Jimmy Maneksha –
I recently replaced the front steering ski on my Hammerhead sled. In the instructions it said to tighten it hand tight. Does that mean there should be some up and down play between the ski and the steel mounting? Or should it be tightened solidly with no play? Thanks for replying. Cheers, Jimmy.

Team Yukon Charlie’s –
Hi Jimmy! Thanks so much for asking! It should be tightened completely (solidly) with no play of any kind.

Best FREAKING sled EVER!!!
My son traveled like 50 feet further than any other kid. I’m 225 and flew!
Steering is absolutely amazing.
Well worth every penny.

Thanks for asking! The weight limit is 220 lb max, and we don’t recommend they be used by kids under 13 years old.

Bought for my son. Now I am going to buy one for myself. What a total blast. Let as many people ride as I can. All have fun. How is this sled not more well known? I am going to do my part to get the word out!

The speed of the Hammerhead is like nothing I have ever experienced! We recently needed to replace a part from our 2006 Hammerhead (the runner) and experienced prompt and knowledgeable assistance. The product arrived within a few days, so our downtime was kept to a minimum. We are looking forward to purchasing a second Hammerhead next season!!!

I used the sled for the first time last week. It’s everything you think it is. Several people in our group said that they were going to order theirs ASAP after riding mine.
My only issue is that my legs rest on the back bar just above the knees when riding, and by the end of the day, my legs were pretty tender right there. I would like to see some thick padding installed on the end bar for us taller (6’1″) folks. Same issue with other folks who rode my sled.

I LOVE my Hammerhead sled. Lightweight, steerable, fast-as-sh** sled that puts all others to shame. I feel like an Olympic Skuller on this thing. At 56 years old I made 15 sledding runs on my first time out. I was the only one on the sledding hill at 9 o’clock at night…I know…total nerd…but I had a blast!! You can hear when I blast past all the other sled trails and hit fresh snow! ROCK ON!! AJ Connolly
