These snowshoes are the first I’ve tried. We’ve gone about seven miles and so far they seem very nice. The front buckles are extremely easy to tighten and loosen with gloved hands. The strap around the heel of my boot is a little more difficult, but still doable with gloves. We’ve tried slight uphill and downhill, for which the claws seem to help. I can’t judge the sturdiness yet, but they’ve gone over some logs without complaint. They are narrow enough that my stride is not hindered by them knocking together. These came with two sticks and a bag. A friend with shoes just said he wished he had a bag for the bits of treks that don’t need the snowshoes. The loop on the bag zipper-pull helps use it with gloves. I’m not sure if this is a fair review, having never tried another sort of snowshoe.

Got these for my wife for Christmas. She Loves them!!!
I am envious of her quick bindings, they are so nice compared to the old style. Only minor negatives that keep me from giving 5 Stars is that the lilac color is more purple than pink shown in pictures, and these were not offered as a kit with poles and case.

These are lightweight and narrow so they are easy to get used to. They are very pretty too 🙂 I love the heel lift- a must if you are doing any kind of ascent. The bindings makes the shoes super easy to put on and off and they stayed tight. Very happy with the purchase

When I called they said this model does not have the heel bar lift? Verify please?

Team Yukon Charlie’s –
Hi Lynda…That’s correct. This particular model does not have a heel lift. You’ll find that in our Pro II series (https://yukoncharlies.com/product/yd-pro-ii-series-womens-snowshoes/) for just $20 more. Hope this helps!

Light weight and comfortable , however the binding clips to keep the straps down come free every couple of feet causing the tightening strap to flop around and get caught in the snow. First time out one even snapped right off when putting the strap in the clip. Not impressed. Will be returning them to Schells.

I bought the kit after doing much research. I ultimately chose these because the straps are really easy to tighten and take off. The 21″ size is light and narrow, which makes highly uphill easier than using snowshoes I’ve had in the past. The size also makes briskly jogging downhill quite fun because they feel like an extension of my feet.
The bag is too big, but it’s nice to have never the less. I also notice since these are so compact that sometimes I sink in deep untouched snow. Overall, highly recommend.

I purchased the advanced series snowshoe in a kit with poles & a bag from my local sporting goods store. I have the 21″ size. I have used them several times to walk in a hilly park near our house to keep up my love of walking in the snowy winter. I enjoy being out on them immensely. They are very easy to get on and off over my boots. Once the heel fitting is set it really is just a quick pull on the brackets over the toe and I’m on my way. I also really like the pop-up heel frame that helps you walk up inclines much easier. Very nice feature! I find the poles to be helpful for balance and great to boost all over aerobic exercise too. Since my purchase I have found your site and am eager to try the pro series. I have already recommended these to family and friends. Thanks Yukon Charlie for making great, easy to use, and affordable snowshoes! Winter fun here I come.

Bought these for myself for my birthday after our first snowstorm in November. My first pair of snowshoes (and I am definitely not youngster!); I really love them. Nice and light, and the binding is incredibly easy to use. I hike, x-c ski a little and now snowshoe in one of the beautiful MetroParks here in the Cleveland area, known as the Emerald Necklace. So fun! The customer service at YC was terrific. I even got something special included since it was my birthday. Everything as promised and met expectations in terms of quality. Nice price too, and I appreciated the 20% off for signing up for the newsletter. Great job YC.

I ordered a pair of Advanced Series for Women snowshoes and poles last year as a Christmas gift for my sister. The website for placing an order was new and had a few glitches so I called the company to order them over the phone. To my surprise a real live person answered the phone (when does that happen these days) and took my order. A few days later I realized that I never recieved a confirmation reciept and since I was buying them as a gift I wanted to make sure the order was placed and I would recieve them on time. So I called back and again and a real live person answered the phone. She was very helpful and just explained that the snowshoes that I ordered were temporarily out of stock but a replentishment delivery was expected later that week and she was waiting to process my order when they were in. She assured me that she would make sure that I got them in time for the holidays and with no prodding from me said that she would expedite the shipping at no cost to me just to be sure. The snowshoes arrived exactly when she said they would. I gave them to my sister and she loves them. They were exactly as described on the website. My sister said that the binding were very easy to adjust and she loved the snazzy color. My husband and I both own Yukon Charlie snowshoes too and this pair that I bought for my sister was a great price for all its features. Overall, a great product + great personal service = a very happy customer!

A great shoe for those that are new to snowshoeing. These are affordable but durable and can take a lot of wear and tear. They are so light weight and the one pull bindings are so simple to get on and off! Best snowshoe!

When one has absolutely no outdoor winter gear, having to buy everything at once can add up fast. So I was extremely happy to come across Yukon Charlie’s products. I found my snowshoes and poles to a very good quality product and have the perfect price point! These shoes work perfect for what I need and I am not going to lie, I love the blue color! I took them to Yellowstone National Park last month and I could not have asked for a better pair of shoes. The photo shows #FindWillFerret and I out exploring the Mammoth Terraces while in Mammoth Hot Springs.

Went snowshoeing in Breckenridge, CO with these on some varied terrain during a week when they got a huuuge snowfall. First major trek was Iowa Hill, part of an old mining district with signs that explain the history of the area. Only caveat: all the signage and trail markers were at the top of Iowa Hill. After a 3/4 mile trudge through hip-deep snow through an elevation gain of nearly 300 feet, I was out of breath and a little light headed (elevation was around 9,000 feet) but my legs weren’t tired! I was using the integrated heel lift and that made all the difference! On the way back down though, my foot slid forward significantly and I needed to readjust the bindings. But they were super easy to loosen without removing gloves, wriggle my foot back into proper position and continue on with confidence. Also forgot to mention I had sprained my wrist earlier on the vacation and was only able to use one pole. These snowshoes handled the steep terrain and deep snow beautifully. The bindings are very easy to get in and out of, just be sure your foot is properly positioned on the shoe and you’re not timid about properly tightening them up.
The slightly narrower shape makes these easy to get used to; I felt I had a natural stride without being overly conscious of the possibility of clanking them together.
As for the color, I purchased the “Crystal Lilac”, which looks magenta, just like it does in the picture. Sorry, but whoever named this color “Crystal Lilac”–suggesting the light purple most people are familiar with–set up a misleading color expectation. I think the color of the show is vibrant and sexy and fun. And I’m not ashamed to admit the color was partially what drew me in.
These will be great shoes for beginners to more accomplished trekers. And they are well suited for anything from rolling hills to steep slopes.

I bought these for my daughter this Christmas because she had outgrown her youth Yukon Charlie snowshoes. She wore those for about four years, and they were great, so we moved up to these. At first we were concerned about by women’s for an 11-year old, but we wanted something that would last. The tapered tail and narrow frame work great for her. And she absolutely loves the bindings (and so do I). She can finally do them herself instead of me having to fasten the clip bindings of her old ones. She enjoyed using the heel lifts for some of our back country snowshoeing. A great product (and pretty too)!

This is my first pair of snowshoes and I absolutely love them! They are lightweight and hold my weight up nicely on the snow. I also really like the bindings and do not come loose while walking. I highly recommend this product!

I bought these snowshoes for my Fiance and she absolutely loves them! She is always trying to get me to go out snowshoeing now and loves every minute of it. The only drawback we have noticed so far is that on the bottom of the snowshoe, the lilac coating has started to wear away to reveal the aluminum core. This really is only a nitpicking point and doesn’t truly affect to overall great use of the snowshoe.

My 18 year old snowshoes needed replacing after several breaks in the bindings. I wanted a good pair at a good price. Love the new bindings, so easy to put on and off! I was shocked and impressed at how fast I received them too, excellent customer service.

The shoes are amazing! I’ve been snowshoeing 4 times since I got them! They are so durable, stylish and most importantly, easy to get in and out of. This is a quality product and I will certainly reccomend to friends! I also wanted to give a shout out to Sara Sullivan who helped me correct my order. Not only did she do this but sent me a hand written note about the order! Who does that anymore?? Great people, great product!

Love my new snowshoes! I live on the edge of a number of cornfields, meadows, and woods in Wisconsin and I’ve been having so much fun exploring them since my Yukons arrived two weeks ago. They offer great stability for my bad knee, and I’m amazed at how much ground I’m able to cover. My only regret is that I wish I didn’t wait until I was 50 to start snowshoeing!

I had been renting snowshoes from my park, but just wanted a pair of my own. I went looking and found that my Yukons are the best looking and most durable pair out there. I have used them so much and they are just as strong and nice looking as when I bought them. They came with the walking sticks so I thought the price I paid was perfect for what I was getting! Thank you for a great winter 🙂

This has been my go-to snowshoe for 2 years now and they haven’t let me down yet.
I keep the back strap at the same spot and just adjust them each time I go out with the spin function at the top of my foot. It stays put no matter the incline or uneven path. I rarely have to re-tighten or adjust them once they are on. I leave them outside in the back of my pick-up for the next adventure and no string or strap has ever broken on me. They are very durable.
Would definitely buy again.
