Question
Jimaco –
My interest is in using these to access some inbounds side country at my local ski resort. First question is whether these are designed to be used once-in-a-while in emergency situations or whether they will stand up to consistent use (a few times a week). 2nd — how long do they take to set up and break down. Basically, I’m looking to shave some time off a normally 45 minute hike over a ski trail on somewhat rolling terrain. The main issue as a snowboarder is the constant post-holing — I’m hoping these would mitigate that experience. 3rd — How would I order the correct size for my snowboard boots (they are US 9.5 — I’m a 5′ 10″ male about 165 lbs)? Thanks!

Team Yukon Charlie’s –
Hi there…these shoes are extremely durable, but the issue you’ll find using them a few times a week has more to do with how “wearable” they are for extended use. When hiking longer distances & multliple times weekly, I don’t think you’ll find these to be the ideal snowshoe from a comfort standpoint. You’d be much better off with a lightweight shoe like our Carbon Flex (https://yukoncharlies.com/product/carbon-flex-spin-snowshoes/) and then strapping them onto your pack when not in use.
In terms of snowboard boots, we think the bindings should fit, but because there are so many different boot designs out there, we can’t guarantee. If this is important, you’ll want to find the shoes in a store near you (check out our dealer locator for help with that: https://yukoncharlies.com/dealer-locator/) and bring your boots in to see if they fit.

Question
Roy F –
What are the dimensions of the package these are in? Not the shipping package, but the carrying bag. I’m a backcountry snowbiker, and might like these for emergency provided I can pack them somewhere on the bike.
Roy,
The carrying bag measures 13.5″ X 6″ X 6″.
Hope this helps!
Thank you,
